The HIACE is equipped with a range of active and passive safety features designed to protect both the driver and passengers. With excellent visibility and a crumple zone structure engineered to absorb impact forces, safety is built into every aspect of the vehicle.

Its front double-wishbone torsion bar spring suspension, paired with a rear leaf spring setup, ensures straight-line stability, ride comfort, and reliable load-carrying capabilities across various driving conditions. Advanced computer modeling has been used in designing the body and chassis, enhancing durability while reducing vibrations transmitted to the cabin. This results in consistent stability and comfort throughout the vehicle’s lifespan. To guard against long-term wear, corrosion-resistant materials are strategically applied in key areas, offering lasting protection against rust and environmental damage.

Transmission options are designed for both performance and durability. The manual gearbox has been tuned for smooth shifting, while the electronically controlled automatic transmission delivers a seamless, natural response. The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps maintain control during emergency braking by preventing wheel lock-up, enhancing both vehicle stability and steering response (optional feature). An anti-glare rearview mirror improves visibility while protecting the driver from bright headlights behind. A high-mount stop lamp enhances rear visibility to trailing vehicles during braking, improving road safety.

Dual front Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags work alongside seatbelts to reduce injury in serious frontal collisions (optional). Additional safety features include front crumple zones, upper and lower frame reinforcements, and side-impact beams—all contributing to best-in-class occupant protection. The Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) seat design offers added protection in low-speed rear-end collisions by minimizing the risk of neck injuries. A unique rotary mechanism built into the Brake Pedal and Steering Shaft Intrusion-Reduction System is engineered to help prevent intrusion into the cabin during a frontal impact, reducing the risk of injury to the driver.
